Household Staff in Gibraltar

Private introductions to individually reviewed housekeepers, nannies, private chefs, butlers and house managers for homes in Gibraltar.

HouseHoldTalent was founded in Gibraltar, and Gibraltar homes are where our network began. We introduce household staff to private residences, apartments on the Rock and family offices, and we know how household employment works here, including for staff who live in Spain and cross the frontier each day.

We are not a job board and we do not place staff on commission. Households submit a confidential role brief, review profiles from the HHT Approved network, shared without names or contact details, and request introductions. Candidates are only introduced with their consent, and the household remains the employer.

Roles we introduce in Gibraltar

  • Housekeepers and head housekeepers

Daily housekeeping, laundry and wardrobe care, fine fabrics and the running of the house to a private standard.

How introductions work

  1. 1Submit a role brief describing the household, the role and the hours. Our team reviews every brief.
  2. 2Browse profiles shared without names or contact details, or ask about Priority Search: personal support finding suitable candidates for one household role, priced on enquiry. Profiles show experience, languages and availability, never names or contact details.
  3. 3Request an introduction. The candidate confirms they want to be introduced, and only then are details shared.

How household staff introductions work

Fixed fees, no commission

Households pay a one-off fee for 30 days of access to the network: Standard £249 or Ongoing Hiring £365. Priority Search is priced on enquiry. There is no success fee and no percentage of salary.

Ongoing Hiring includes one replacement role if a position is filled within the 30 days. Paid access is paused while we build our network, so households can register their interest free for now. Candidates never pay to join.

Employing household staff in Gibraltar

Gibraltar employers register each vacancy with the Department of Employment before engaging someone, and file a Notice of Terms of Engagement for every worker.

Pay can never be below the minimum wage, which rose to £10 an hour on 1 August 2026.

A work permit is only needed if the person is not a British, EU, EEA or Swiss national. In that case the employer applies, and the permit must be in place before the job starts.

This is a summary, not legal advice. Check the current rules with the Department of Employment or an adviser before you hire.

Staff who live in Spain and work in Gibraltar

Many household staff working in Gibraltar live in La Línea, San Roque, Sotogrande or further along the coast, and cross the frontier each day. Under the 2026 treaty, EU citizens who live in Spain and work in Gibraltar can apply for a frontier worker certificate, while British nationals living in Spain need their own right to live in Spain.
